	About the Author Anne Azel was born in Britain but immigrated to the Toronto area of Ontario, Canada. She travels both for work and pleasure. She has a number of degrees but her main interest is forensics. Writing, clearly, is one of her hobbies but she also shows her paintings at several galleries and travels whenever and wherever she can. Anne divides her time between her home west of Toronto and her cottage on Long Lake in the far north of Ontario. No, she is not a bit like her characters, but Bartlett and Long Lake are based on Anne's experiences in the north and Aliki's career and house also reflects Anne's own research and home.
